We are contracted to the Ministry of Social Development and our role is to support job seekers by providing them with the necessary skills to transition into long term, sustainable employment. Our eight week training programme takes place within a real workplace, where trainees gain valuable work experience and workplace rules apply. This helps our trainees fully understand work practices and employers’ expectations. The trainees also complete the internationally recognised ICDL Certificate in MS Office (Workskills is the only accredited ICDL computer training provider in the Manawatu). A Resource for Businesses --------------------------------------- Our trainees come from a variety of backgrounds and work experience and offer a wide range of skills and abilities. Some have focused on their education and are now seeking employment, with others returning to the workforce after raising their family. Over the eight week programme our tutors assess a trainees’ skills and qualities and we then match these to suitable roles with prospective employers.
