Thank you Tom and Charlie for a fantastic first surf lesson for our son! He absolutely loved it and wants to go surfing every day now :) Tom and his team are very professional and friendly. From the first moment you are in good hands. Tom was making sure that the kids felt relaxed and looked after; Charlie was an amazing instructor with a great sense of humor and positive energy! She was making sure that every kid was catching at least one weave. She was motivating them and giving a bit extra help and support where necessary. We absolutely loved our experience with Hakanini Surf School and will be back for sure!

We had a fantastic surf lesson, with Tom, at Hakanini Surf School last Saturday. We had asked for a small group lesson, so that we'd get more instruction and we got everything that we'd hoped for. Tom was friendly, punctual and approachable as he took us through basic surfing strategies on land, before we started in the water. He gave us pointers about what was going well and what we could improve, but always with lots of encouragement and support (that i think made us feel a lot better when we missed a wave or didn't set up in the best ways). He even offered to help us with buying a board, after the lesson. What a legend and what an amazing lesson on Papamoa Beach. Cheers Tom!

Rented a 7 foot surfboard from Tom at Hakanini, such a great guy that always has a smile on his face! Had an epic day out surfing and got some great tips that made it that much better. Would definitely come back to Papamoa for a holiday and rent another one! Thanks again!!

I had a great experience at Hakanini surf school last weekend. I had a private one hour lesson with Charlie. She was so friendly and I felt really safe and at ease with her out in the water. A beginner surfer, I knew some of the basics but Charlie really helped me fine tune my technique. So by the end of the lesson I had ridden some fun waves and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face when I got in the car. Thanks Charlie and Tom for an awesome lesson, I’ll be back.

Olivia had the best time at the school holiday programme! Tom and Tony are so great with the kids, they are super encouraging! Olivia was pumped to go everyday and can't wait to go back!

Our kids' are absolutely loving their holiday sessions with Hakanini. The kids' are way more confident on the board thanks to Tom & Tony's awesome surfing knowledge, putting the kids' at ease in & out of the water and with their great communication skills.
