Just your average small town cinema. Doesn't have a kiosk, so you'd be doing the old school way of manually choosing seats at the counter, which is understandable given the low population of the place. However, your viewing experience could be ruined by faulty projector. When we watched the movie, there were two strips of lights reflected onto the screen, making any relatively dark scenes unable to watch.

Average facilities, as it just follows the "formula". Often less crowded than other cinemas, which i like. Redeeming vouchers by booking online not recommended, we ended up paying twice.
Very comfortable seats. Movie was sad though.

Needed more staff on. Had to wait 16 mins for food service counter and we were only 4th in the line.
My wife and I went to an 8:15pm showing and everything was very good. I had a decent APA for 9, my wife a Sauvignon Blanc or similar , and the counter person was extremely nice and helpful. Advised us of the CineBuzz card and we ended up going in for about 11/each. Seats were very comfortable with a reasonable drink holder, temperature of the room was good, and no bleed-over of sound, but I think maybe this one did not have an adjacent screen room. As a musician, former sound engineer, and audio store owner I am often disappointed with sound systems in smaller town theaters, for logical enough reasons. I found the sound system at Costlands Event Cinema quite good. The super-base was a bit out of balance and over powering, but overall the sound was _very_ good compared to some I have been to in New Zealand recently (Matakana Cinema up towards Mangawhai, for example. Nice theater, seats etc. but horrible sound.) We'll be going back during our remaining weeks in Paraparaumu. Good job, Folks!
Nice experience during Level 2. Plenty of hand sanitiser and allocated seating to keep our bubbles safe. Comfy seats too. Staff were professional.
