Lovely very small town country pub. Lovely hosts. Good sized meals. Nice locals. Pleasant room. Even brought a good sized packed lunch for the next day.

Enjoyed an excellent 300g steak with mushroom sauce. The fries were terrific. Very relaxed atmosphere.

A little slice of country tavern. Service great. Food decent. Atmosphere awesome. Cranked the jukebox for some loud lunch time mayhem.

Just horrible, the one star is for the clean sheets. We only stayed there because it was my husband's hometown and he was nostalgic for a Pataeroa experience, we had been quoted a cheap price which was in dispute when we left early. Apparently an incompetent member of their staff had given us the wrong tariff and had we known the true tariff we wouldn't have gone there These are the reasons not to go there.............. Overpriced rooms, Freezing lounge when staff neglect to light a fire Nowhere to hang your clothes No lock on the shower door and one of the toilets, which also rolled around in an alarming fashion No keys for the bedroom doors, which when requested only made the job of getting in to the room a terrible struggle, it was touch and go on occasions as to whether we could actually get back in with these grim locks and keys. No plugs for the basins or bath so that was it shower or go dirty, as there was no lock on the shower we went without. No electric blankets, but overheated rooms Huge almighty racket in the pub with a live amplified band and drunken noisy shouting that went on in till at least 12.30, impossible to sleep through took another 15 minutes for the happy crowd to slam their car doors and go home.
