Have stayed here several times this place is lovely quiet and private great amenities at the lodge kind people, we love it here the west coast is magic.
An airbnb meets a hostel. Though I would call this place more of a lodge than a full on hostel as it only has one dorm and all the other rooms are private. The accommodation felt like being in a cozy home with great views of the nearby nature, easy to use kitchen, friendly staff and clean bathrooms. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. You can also walk to nearby waterfalls from the hostel or a 20 min walk to beach if you do not have a car.
Love this backpacker. We live in Auckland and return regularly. It's a bit more expensive than other backpackers, but this place is gorgeous. Worth it . There is a resident cat and dog that live in the house. They are super chill and tend to keep to themselves. I have pet allergies and did not have any problems. The home is very much an open plan with lots of windows so you can see the bush and experience the outdoors. The back yard is basically the edge of the valley so you looking up at mountains and the native bush. There's a small creek running just 10 meters from the back porch. Love that there are 2 trampolines, a fire pit, private porches, and larger private rooms if you don't want to do the dorm thing. This hostel attracts some very chill and cool people as they tend to come to Piha to surf. Don't come here if you're not chill or a pleasant person.

We can't say enough, a great place to stay, welcoming, surrounded by and full of ambiance, architecturally designed, a home away from home.
Nice place to stay for one or two days. The beach is just a short walk away.
I had a wonderful stay at the Piha Beachstay! Piha is beautiful, the hostel was clean, the views were great, and the staff was super friendly. I would recommend the Beachstay for anyone visiting Piha!
