Went on the 1.5h trek today and it was great. The scenery was beautiful and our guide Jess was lovely and took plenty of photos for us. The horses were well mannered but definitely not robotic and still had minds of their own. They enjoyed having a few apples afterwards that we brought along for them!

Had an amazing experience while horse riding.... The view was breath taking, the horse I was given to ride called "Ben" was absolutely beautiful! as were all the horses!! could tell they were looked after VERY well.. Our tour guide lady Missy was awesome! always happy to answer our thousand questions ... she made the ride so comfortable making sure we were all good behind her... I would book and come here a thousand times again... thank you to the awesome team (Humans and Horses ) for making our day so good!
The staff who were leading us were really lovely and made it a better experience. The horses are well trained and we all felt safe and comfortable with them! its a beautiful track and incredible views (also many photo moments). Definitely recommend

Very calm horses, very experienced and attentive staff/guide. View is nothing but the best there is in QT. They have a transport service from the city and back which is a plus! Will definitely be back with family and friends soon.
We came here for horseback riding ride yesterday. Our guide was Ruth. For those traveling internationally, we were not aware but this is over the river and through the woods ! We drove a good 15 minutes off the road on a gravel path to get down to the lake. Once we got there however, the lake itself is simply stunning and we found a camping site right by the lake. It’s kind of like finding a little compound in the middle of nowhere! That being said, it is a beautiful way to Xperience authentic New Zealand. The countryside there is very untouched and peaceful and serene. When we arrived, we observed all the horses there appear to be in very good care. They all appeared well fed, and well cared for. Our Tour guide was wonderful. She was from Belgium and was a great guide! I was appreciative that they had shuttle service from the center of town They brought us right back after our trip as well. Highly recommend!!
We had the best time on our trek! The horses were lovely and the scenery was surreal. We really enjoyed chatting with our guide on our walk. Definitely recommend!
