Had the best experience renting a car from Wicked Campers for three days. The girl we dealt with Amber was incredible from start to finish, no matter how many silly questions we asked. The car was in great condition and drove great, with the added benefit of epic paintwork. Plus she showed us how to put on the snow wheels which was great because I wouldn’t have been able to figure that out! Would 100% recommend dealing with Wicked, a couple of people told us to steer clear due to “things they’d heard” but we were so glad we ignored that and went ahead with it. Will definitely be using them again in future.

We used Wicked Campers in March 2018. Apart from a dodgy check in location, we have no negative feedback, we loved our road trip in NZ. So much so, we were quite sad to part with our camper van. We opted for the unbranded Premium option, did the job 100%. The chap who greeted us in Queenstown was chilled but really helpful. It’s best to get a taxi from Queenstown as it’s not near the airport. The van was spotless, not dented, and comfortable. I can’t speak for the branded versions that seemed a bit more beat up. Dropping the vehicle off in Auckland was easy too. We highly recommend these guys if you opt for the Premium Vans.

Unfortunately we have had such a negative experience with WickedCampers. We were willing to look past the cobwebs all over the van, the dirty windscreen, the empty fuel tank and empty fluids when we picked it up because I suppose you get what you pay for... we were even willing to accept the fact two grown adults could barely fit inside. What was really upsetting was the fact our van broke down on the first morning, and continued needing jumpstarts for the following 24 hours while we waited for the office to open again on Monday. We had been planning our holiday for a long time and it was disrupted with this issue... after speaking to roadside assistance and office staff on the phone, we were first told we’d get a refund, before being called back and told to “f*****g toughen up, I thought you wanted an adventure?” We returned the van and the keys (the radio had stopped working by this point too) and yet after emails and calls to the headquarters, we have not been responded to by John in the Aus office, or customer service. We lost a night of accommodation at a caravan park, had to pay for another night accommodation in Queenstown, lost the full tank of fuel we put in, and all the while Wicked could have made money on the van and palmed it off to someone else since we returned it (under the assumption of a refund). Still waiting on a response after almost three weeks. Let this be a warning to anyone considering saving a few hundred... don’t bother!

Rented a basic van with a custom paint job. Basic kitchen necessities included, comfortable and reliable van. Would recommend a mosquito net as it doesn't have any roof screened vents and can get stuffy at night. Friendly staff. If you doff your gear at check-in you'll get a discount. Ask inside for details. More than enough power to keep up with traffic on mountain roads.

The loveliest, most helpful, generous, and chatty agent of Wicked Campers (international company). She took great care of me with tips, directions, and even goods for the road trip. So darling, very proud of New Zealand, and gives extra tips on how to save on tours & activities. The vans are hilarious and stocked with everything you'll need. So thoughtfully laid out from double moon roofs to storage and eating and cooking tools you'll need. Vans aren't brand new nor high end - they're absolutely perfect for a long camping road trip.

The vans are in terrible state and the place looks really shady from the first glance, me and my friends wanted to do a road trip with wicked, paid the deposit online, and the next day that we saw what the vans really were, we decided to cancel and go for juicy. Long story short that was on the beguining of agoust and they haven’t guiven us our 1000 deposit back, for the vans that we did not use. Today they stopped receiving our calls and mails Terrible service and they still owe us 1000 deposit Do not rent with wicked. juicy it’s cheaper and far better
