Gosh, it must be nice to be able to have a multi-million dollar monopoly business where you can just not give a flying F about your customers and have the privilege to occasionally cause a lot of damage without having to pay for it. Thank you for your absolutely amazing (NOT!) reply to my complaint about last weeks power outage.

Lovely staff but very bad company organization. I have been waiting several months for my connection now, every time I call I get told “it’ll be sorted by the end of the week” and this doesn’t happen. No clear time frames given for works, while I appreciate that there is a backlog due to COVID a semi-accurate and efficient time frame would be helpful. Poor communication and organization within the company and to the customer has been my experience.

I often deal with Mainpower for safety disconnects on properties so work can be done of roofs etc. I have always found them very accommodating, helpful and great to deal with in regards to this, much appreciated.

Sadly Mainpower supplies power in Waikuku Beach where I live. While I can arrange for multiple planned days per year without power (don't think to work from home if you live here) I really dislike the frequent 'unplanned' power outages. If I see a Mainpower car around then I know it's time to shutdown my computers and start gardening, because a power break is imminent. I wonder if we need Fiber for Internet if we can't get the basic infrastructure right.
