Open 24hrs, experience a bird sanctuary thats free of charge. This lake is fenced off from the rest of the local farmlands in the area to keep predators away. Apparently you can see kiwi here if your lucky we're going to have to come back here at night and do the walk again to see for ourselves. There is freedom camping area with toilets, but I'm not sure about showers? Please donate kindly before leaving, it is definitely worthwhile if your in the area or passing through.

Absolutely stunning place to visit. Take a picnic, go for a swim or a lovely walk through native bush and listen to the birdsong

Loved our time. First place I have seen kiwis that aren't in captivity. This place is worth supporting. They are doing a good thing here.

A nice place for a picnic and a walk through the Bush filled with bird song. Great work done by the volunteer army creating the walkways and board walks and most of all the pest fence.
