I was quite impressed. I read reviews where people complained about the slow service, but I did not experience that at all. I went on a Sunday, and the place was heaving! I was seated, and offered sparkling water while I decided. Within minutes I made my tasting paddle selection. Less than 10 minutes later, I was served. After 5 minutes, one of the waitresses asked if I wanted something, and I didn't. After 5 minutes another waitress asked if I needed anything. I then decided to order the jalapeno poppers. Not even 10 minutes later, I had THE MOST AMAZING jalapeno poppers! Another 5 minutes later, another waitress asked if I wanted something. They kept checking in, asking if I'm comfortable, or needing something. The service was quick, and the food was top notch!

Had 15 of my friends here on the weekend. Was awesome from start to finish. We shared some platters and pizzas and it was the perfect amount. The lady that looked after us was awesome. We will be back :)
Excellent food, nice place, fantastic staff! BUT! You should replace your floor for something solid. Existing one is too dusty. Dust everywhere - staff shoes, plants, furniture and etc.
Good atmosphere, menu and wine list. Excellent beer list and beer tasting board. Food was above average but not by much. Good pub grub! It beats me why you can't get a comfortable seat though. I guess they are after guest turnover and don't want you to settle in. If you have a sore back give it a miss - you won't last the distance. Otherwise well worth a visit even if just to taste some great beers.
Never one to give reviews, but had to get on here and rave about how awesome our waitress Monica was. Efficient service, provided great advice on food/beer choices, and bloody great banter... definitely represents the "brewery atmosphere" the best compared to your other staff. Had a great time thanks to her service and will definitely be coming back again.
Arguably the best place in Auckland for a good meal with decent beers. We tried a decent selection of beers, none disappointed, we even bought a few bottles to take home. The food was very good, we shared a burger and a pizza, the pizza was particularly good, awesome base. Atmosphere was very relaxed and happy with exceedingly efficient service.
Great atmosphere, fast and friendly service. Choice of sparkling or plain water for free. Delicious food! Pizza was yum, also tried the red ale and the dark chocolate tart. All amazing and will definitely come back again!
If you wan good burgers and alchohol I define recommend Hallertau. Honestly all their different food tastes so good.
