Terrible hosting, no support, outdated PHP and SQL, and poor management of DNS and server migration to Discount Domains. Really disappointed - this "premium" service can't hold a candle to other options.

The service is absolutely appalling. Waste of time making a complaint, you would get a better response from a brick wall. Tickets remain unanswered or never followed up. I fail to understand how they are still in business. I would advise anyone to keep away.

I cancelled my account two weeks before the due date. I sent you guys five emails and replied five-times telling you I DO NOT WANT MY ACCOUNT. CANCEL IT. Now I'm being hassled for payment of 60 cause you didn't follow up my request. Every time I call, I end up in India with some chippawocka who can't speak English. It's so ironic when my office is 200 meters from you! Get your S*&T together, guys!

No support, used to be with Web Drive which became Umbrellar, have not been able to get support since, they send invoices and no matter the number of remittance slips you send they only credit last invoice sent not the oldest invoice, no accounts team to talk too. Know many others in NZ in the same boat, no one to talk too and they have very bad accounting practices. What more can you do but write a bad review after 18 months of trying to contact someone. They will reply to this to say call us to talk to us, they will not be willing to listen they are just trying to save face, just do not use, far better more responsive companies in NZ like Rimu Host, SItehost take your pick use anyone but any of the Umbreallar brands, Freeparking is just as bad we have clients in tears begging us to help them get away.

The absolute worst. I have never experienced such complete incompetence in every area from a company, and such a profound inability or unwillingness to solve issues. I have been trying to close an account for weeks and they simply will not respond. Their customer service staff are the rudest I have ever encountered. Avoid like the plague.

Where to start. Just avoid at all costs. Started back in the 90's when a couple of good guys owned Web Drive, things were great till Umbrellar took over, and you always live in hope things do not change for the worse. Since then they say we are constantly overdue bill wise, we have never paid not even one invoice late, EVER!!! Say we have 6 invoices from them they will always credit you the last invoice(the one sent the same day) they sent and then send you to a debt collector for overdue bills. There accounts department do not know what to do and you have to do their job for them, they keyed in one time we under paid by 1cent, yes one cent and I rang every week for 3 months and had to give up as the accounts team never make mistakes and this is never our issue. It too 2 years before they started chasing this 1 cent that was their issue. It took 4 solid days going over years of invoices showing them where they made the mistake,. They still didn't believe it. They have no idea. They still regularly send us an invoice and then an hour or so later ring to complain it is overdue on the 1st September we get an invoice and 2 hours later it is overdue and going to the debt collector. Now support, do not expect anything from this company as others have complained, support doesn't exist and if you try and complain or get help you are the problem. Senior management are useless and never try to solve issue in the organisation it almost feels like they do not care about the business.There is a ton of better and more supportive hosting providers in NZ and around the world, anything Umbrellar give a wide birth and try and all costs to avoid, it will cost you a lot more in lost time trying to help them do their job than any hosting should.

If your looking for a reliable professional domain name provider avoid discountdomains.co.nz. I have been in the industry 20 years and I have never come across such poor customer service. We registered and paid for a domain on time and due to their poor process and poor customer service the domain expired resulting in loss of business. Their accounts team misled and lied to us with no consideration what so ever. Avoid this provider at all cost. This is the first review I have had to write 20 years dealing with web host providers. Very sad outfit.

We've been using the WebDrive wing of this company for nearly 20 years. However, since Umbrellar took over, the decline in the quality of customer service has been relentless. Front line staff are clueless. Umbrellar seem to have outsourced most of their customer service offshore and comprehension of English is poor. Staff often respond to a question that we have not asked or ask us to confirm our email address (the one I just emailed you from!). It can be days before we get a response. Today we're trying to recover client email accounts that have been deleted by them after they arbitrarily decided that they were not needed because no one was using them. There were thousands of emails stored in this account. We got no notification at all. This is the second time this has happened to the same account. They used to have an online customer support ticketing system where we could keep track of what tickets we had lodged but they removed that a few months ago, so now we need to search through emails.
