School holidays would have been a good idea to put on web site Only hatchery open after travelling over 1 hour to find adventure park shut ??

Water/boat ride inside Rainbow Springs. You can go as many times as you like as entry is included in your ticket. Supposedly it takes you through different phases of New Zealand - wild/untouched countryside, a Maori village and a settlers village before you're hoisted up and sent down a big slide to splash in the water at the bottom. You will most likely get wet in some shape on this ride. It's also looking a bit tired with some obvious gaps where a piece of equipment used to be which is no longer working. I get the impression that this would be more impressive at night as there look to be lights and possibly projection displays in the buildings that you couldn't see during the day. Worth a go if it's not overwhelmingly busy. Playground and cafe is right next door.

Really enjoyed our hatchery tour. Kerry was our tour guide & he was brilliant & surely has a passion for his work. Beautifully set out & worth the time to visit whilst knowing your money goes to support a great cause.

Big splash and kids playground definitely a hit if kids are big enough. Shame theyd run out of trout food.

We came after 3.30pm as it says open till 10pm. Except we missed all the wildlife encounters for the day. Not too much here. Got fairly soaked on the ride too which was a bit of fun. Although it said 9mins but it felt much shorter.
