Absolutely appalling service. Our first inkling of something wasn't right with these guys was that they had chopped 2 of our freshly planted plants down with their weed eater. The plants were in a river rock garden no where near any grass or weeds! We requested a regular fortnightly mow and I had to chase up when we required the lawns cut, then I would need to call them 2-3 times again before they would get around to doing our lawns. I would get notifications that I was late on payment before I would even get an invoice to pay on. This business needs to get their sh@t together.

Less than 6 months with Select. Many problems right from the outset. Missed large sections of lawns on one property (more than once); promising to finish the missed section but never did (and offered no discount), smaller pieces on another property (more than once). Another time they arrived, announced the weedeater was broken (not even an apology). The edges were not completed, there was no offer to follow up or discount. I'd gone so far as to get another couple of quotes but kept trying to give Select a little longer. Then they began to mow earlier than the instructed week (by a week not a few days!). The explanation was "You told the contractor that's what you wanted". (I don't even live on the property). When I said "No, I didn't", they argued with me (!?). Bad customer service! Customers do not like to be told they did something when they did not! Communication terrible. Didn't answer emails for days. Finally I emailed the chief franchisee, Hayden, who was terrific. He tried- but even he couldn't make his Rotorua contractors understand. Instead of rectifying the problem, or properly apologising, they decided to get rid of a good customer, telling me they would not mow my lawns anymore. Are you kidding me? I'm a retired business owner. I paid all invoices, in full, online, within a few hrs of most jobs. I did my part as a customer efficiently & the Select contractors did not. Thankfully, I had on file, a great quote from GREENACRES for my 3 properties and the inconvenience of having to find someone else was minimalised. No thanks to Select! It is now a month since GREENACRES started and they are brilliant; problem-free & polite. EG: I raked some fallen (rotten & buggy) apples off the lawn onto the concrete carpark out of their way. I didn't know until GREENACRES had gone, GREENACRES put them into the compost for me. Incredible service GREENACRES!
These guys are hopeless. I booked them to mow my lawns at one property and went to another property. They then blamed me for not telling them that the lawns had been mowed... But they were at the wrong address!!! Terrible customer service. Very unreliable service. There are lot's of other lawn mowing services in town, check them out first.
