One of my favorite places to go. Went here on a solo trip and I can't wait to come back with my family and friends. The people were BEYOND friendly and kind. My tour guide was the sweetest and hand so many jokes and genuine historical accounts to provide. My advice is to follow your guide and then tour the grounds on your own because you'll get the best experience that way. Get the corn, get a lot of hangi pie. My biggest regret is not getting 10 of them for myself. Thanks for such an amazing experience to everyone there and for allowing others to your your home.

Came here at 10am on a Friday to do the Whaka Trail. Pretty unique place in that there’s all these geothermal sites in a fully functioning village. It’s very well maintained and there people there are very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent little village hot pools and it shows a lot of buildings and baths from back in the days showing what it was like.

Just spent over an hour and a half on a guided tour and was blown away. Our tour guide, I think her name was Shan (sorry, so bad with names, but she lived in the blue house) was absolutely wonderful. She had so much knowledge and it was wonderful knowing generations of her family have lived in the village. I would highly recommend the tour, everything about it was brilliant.

Thank you to Chief for our amazing 12pm tour of your wonderful village yesterday. Your passion for your home was so beautiful and genuine. The waiata to finish the tour brought a tear to my eyes. We had the most amazing time and it was a joy to visit a place that celebrates women, its people and the human spirit x
