It's been a long time since I was last up this way. Very disappointing to see the park has gone. Nowhere for the kids to play anymore. And the parking is much more limited than it used to be. 4 cars there took up all the space. Another 2 drive in, but immediately left because there was nowhere for them to park with blocking the exits. It used to be a good place to have a stop, or a picnic. Not anymore.

Quite spot with ample parking. Tired of driving? Take a break here. You will like the serene look out.

Very sad seeing empty and broken beer bottles strewn all over the site

Stand at the top of this tower and survey the lands from Sanson to the Ranges. On a fine day and with a chainsaw you could clear the trees behind you and see to Ruapehu with only a trifling amount of eco vandalism. The tower is a curved lookout and for those of a fanciful frame of mind it is possible to imagine being at the bridge of a ship amidst rolling green seas. A good place to stand and watch the traffic and reflect on your life. Be kind to yourself. You are only human and your mistakes do not define you. The people who love you do. Go in peace, my brother/ sister/ gender fluid sibling.
