Such a great book shop. Probably one of the best in NZ which is not full of second-hand books. Has a wide variety of books, the staff are very helpful and approachable.

Brilliant and expansive bookshop with plenty of space to wander and discover. The layout reverses bookkeeping orthodoxy, hiding pop fiction at the back and exposing readers and book lovers to more exciting offerings like graphic novels, photography, philosophy and fine art. A broad range that doesn't feel cluttered, it is to Scorpio's credit to not simply stack all the bestsellers to bulging. Staff could be a bit more intuitive and a little less "Le Sigh". Go here and spend money on books.

In a world increasingly dominant by giant, faceless corporations, it is good to patronise local, independent bookstores like Scorpio Books. The staff are friendly and they really know their books. A great range of books too.

Staff are so helpful! And the selection cannot be beat. I was after a very specific book and when I rang ahead of time, the salesperson on the phone with me tracked it down and put it aside for me as there was just the one copy left. Beautiful service, and much appreciated as I was in a bit of a hurry!
