Good for kids
We had a brilliant time with Chris, Gem and Magic this morning on the 3h trek! We hadn't been riding for a good 15 years and Chris succeeded to both re-teach us the basics in a short amount of time and encourage us to be a little bolder and try out things when he felt we were confident enough. It was really nice to not just be on a horse passively following the other horse for 3h but rather feel like we were actively participating in the experience. And the ride was beautiful too, going through hills and tussock on pretty paths and with great views. Thank you Chris - we hope to be back!

I drove out from Christchurch to Springfield, which was a pretty drive. Then on the horseback ride, the scenery became stunning along the magnificent Waimakiriri River. Chris was an inspiring guide, who helped my confidence while riding sweet Gem. I will definitely return soon!
An extraordinary riding experience. My horse was a happy and responsive one. And I can see that Chris really cares for his horses, which makes them a great ride. He also allows me.to ride my horse the way I want rather than follow a trail. This was quite A new experience and helped me.boost my confidence. Chris is very clear in his instructions, which is an extra bonus. Will definitely be back.
Amazing experience. I had practically zero horseback riding experience prior to this. Chris was able to make learning quite easy for us. The horses were all well trained and easy to ride. The path we followed had a good mix of flats, uphill, and downhill; and the views were wonderful, along with seeing many sheep in the area. Very highly recommended activity.
Had a wonderful day out with Chris and his horses! I was a bit nervous being a very inexperienced rider but he did an amazing job of putting me at my ease. We were a group with mixed experience levels and I felt he accommodated all of our skill levels beautifully. The views were spectacular along the trail as well. Highly recommend!!
Loved the ride today. I recommend Rubicon Valley Horse Treks for all ages and experience levels. The scenery is amazing, the horses were well behaved and the guide gives you great options to either test your abilities or enjoy an easy ride. Chris was brilliant helping me improve my riding and I'll definitely be back soon!
Chris was a wonderful guide very patient and informative! The ride was lovely and the sights were awesome! My wife was a little bit more nervous but Chris was a able to give her special attention and make sure she felt comfortable.
Loved our two hour trek, lots of variety and challenges if you want them. Horses are not follow along in a line, you get direct them and do as much or as little as you like. Will definitely be back.
