I fell In love with this facility the moment I walked in the door, I knew it was right. Far exceeded the others I had viewed that day. My mother has been a resident now for a year and visiting with her in the beautiful surroundings and being greated by the amazing staff is one of my favourite things. Very caring staff feel like family. I plan to end up retiring there myself one day (not too soon).

The care and attention is amazing. The staff are very gentle and have made my mum's life as comfortable as they possibly can by meeting all her needs physically and emotionally. Thank you to you all for all you do. Your hard work through this difficult time is very much appreciated. Kindest regards Ferne and Paul and family.

This an attractive, beautifully-maintained village with nice rooms. The entire team is friendly, caring and professional and continue to go out of their way to make sure that my father is safe, well and happy - this is invaluable to me because I don't live in the same city and can only visit occasionally.

As a staff's point of view. I have worked in this place for quite some time already. I have cherished every moments I have with my residents. I loved and cared for them as my own family. Even though how much I loved working this place, its quite frustating sometimes that you are takin for granted by your manager. We are always under staffed. I know we need the supporting papers from them to for our Visa but we felt like we have been taken advantage. Im posting this in behalf of all the lovely staff of Edith Cavell. It wasn't like this before. Every one is doing their hardest part with their job but hopefully the manager can see it and please be good with your staff. Appreciate the people who are working hard to keep the company going, do something before its too late.

Edith Cavell is in beautiful Sumner, and easy walk (or wheelchair trip or drive for the elderly) to the beach. My mother had a large unit with a sunny courtyard and it gave her much pleasure. The staff were delightful and I couldn't ask for a more attentive, caring and professional nursing staff. They have a lot of events and involve the residents in feedback and improvement ideas.

My elderly mother, Peggy Miller 93, has recently moved into an independent townhouse. Right from our very first appointment we have received the best service and attention from Sharryn Pidgeon. She could not have been more helpful throughout the entire process offering us the best information and advice possible to make the process as easy as possible. With the interruption of the lockdown Mum's auction was delayed and all dates had to be reviewed. Sharryn kept in touch throughout. Now that Mum is settled and loving her new home Sharryn is still assisting us with little extras and reassurances. She is a very professional, caring and knowledgeable person extremely well suited to her job. Already we have learnt that all the other residents really love her for her constant care also. We met Moira prior to moving in and once again she could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Same goes for Dave the gardener. We have discussed our plans for Mum's garden and he is more than happy to help carry out her wishes with the big things - three pittosporums were removed prior to moving in making the garden a lot lighter and nicer to look at. We can now add Mum's touch - when it stops raining!. All in all our family could not have received a better welcome or any more help with very big next stage of Mum's new life.

Recently I had the experience of visiting and also enquiring into the facilities at Edith Cavill in Sumner. The first contact I had was with Rose at reception. What a delight! A “people person”. Who immediately sort to engage herself to meet my needs. I have returned regularly visiting and have found that this care and concern is consistent. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Sharon Pidgeon who is in the sales division. She equipped me with the information I needed and arranged a viewing of 2 studio units. Her follow up phone call was both professional and informative . Her qualifications, vast knowledge and dedication to the elderly and their families help to make what can be a very difficult and emotional part of “life’s journey” easier.
