Tai Tapu, New Zealand

Quite a nice family walk. If going with small children or elderly I would recommend staying away from the rock because it can be difficult to climb.
like
gorgeous scenery after you reaching the top of the rock
Great spot for sunset photography or just nice afternoon walk
Great short walk for families with outstanding views across the Canterbury plains on a good day. Kids loved the challenge of scrambling up the rocks and finding hiding places!
The walk up from Tai Tapu is incredible. It would be amazing to see a more formally organised and marked walking track from Gherkins Rd to the Summit Rd. You get awesome views across Ellesmere and lots of shifting perspectives as you gain elevation.
Easy track with a great view, be sure to climb out to the point of the rocks. Can be combined with other walks in the area to make a bigger walk.
Sweet piece of rock. U can walk on top of it. You can walk around it. It's usually windy there. Nice views. There is some rock climbing there as well. A few semi sport routes. But you'll need some pro if you want to climb all of it. Good times
Beautiful place to walk. Easy access from Summit Road. There is a fresh water pipe on Summit Road one km away going towards The Kiwi.
