Fantanstic food in lovely Tapawera Town
My husband and I stopped here for lunch after hiking down Mt Owen. The menu has a great selection. The staff are very friendly. The food and drinks are great value! Service was prompt. My fish, chips and salad was very tasty. My husbands' steak burger was incredible value and very good. Really nice relaxed atmosphere with lots of seating inside and outside. There are many covered and open seating options outside. Very clean inside and outside. Tidy bathrooms. We much prefer eating in the tranquility of this place than in the bigger centres like Motueka or Nelson.
Had a lunch here, chicken burger and the wife a charcoal chicken salad. All processed, all worst quality, not been close to charcoal. This place is not for eating I am afraid. Although in the middle of the hop territory the selection of beer is extremely poor. I understand the place has been for sale a long time, hopefully someone picks it up and put it back to shape again.

Meal service was slow. We had the fisherman’s basket. Flat and boring undressed salad. Overcooked calamari and mussels. Fish and scallops were nice. Stale oil flavour in chips. Facility was clean. Nice tasting drinking water.
had lunch in hotel, lovely. friendly staff wholesome food .. all good peaceful spot, looks like its a great stopping point for bikers on weekend rides.
