Can’t recommend Blazing paddles enough for a Whanganui river journey trip. Great service all round - our gear looked like the best on the river compared to the other companies. Super friendly staff. The overnight accommodation the night before our trip was great (far better than the garages and sheds some other people on the river told us they had to stay in!). If we come back we’ll be sure to use these guys again!
Great experience using blazing paddles. Our group of 8 stayed in the cottage on the right on the first evening. The cottage was great and had a nice deck out the back looking over the river. The lady we dealt with was great. She explained everything to us and answered all our questions and was a bloody good laugh too. The canoes and paddles were all in good condition as was the other gear like life jackets and barrels etc. Regarding the river trip in general... great experience and very fun. I recommend blazing paddles to everyone.
So glad we chose Blazing Paddles for our river trip . Communication, overnight stay, drop off, pick up, and set up all excellent. The operation runs super smoothly to make you feel confident and really well looked after. Just loved the whole experience - can't wait to do it all again!

Incredible experience on the Whanganui River with Blazing Paddles today - can’t recommend these guys enough! We took a ride on their racy jet boat to some remote and stunning parts of the river and also spent some time canoeing in what felt like a completely untouched area of the awa. All equipment was well maintained, staff were professional and friendly - a top notch experience overall. If you’re looking to organise the multi-day ‘Whanganui Journey’ or just short day experience on the river, you can definitely rely on this company. As well as jet boat rides and canoe trips, they also offer fly fishing experiences which I’ve heard are some of the best in NZ!
The staff are absolutely amazing! They really care about their customers and providing them the best experience possible. With so many different possibilities for adventures, and even the flexibility to cater to your needs, I cant recommend them enough. I will absolutely be returning soon
Great friendly service. Really helpful planning and putting together our trip. We were impressed with their gear that they provided and felt it was better than other providers we saw on the river.
