They are so helpful comparing to Barrier air. It was bad weather on the island yesterday and Barrier air cancelled our flight with late notice and possibly tried to charge us more for changing the date. They ended up not charging the extra fee but they said they cannot give us any refund. Fly My Sky was still flying while “bad weather “ and helped us getting out of the island with reasonable price. They even went to Barrier air to ask if they can transfer the ticket that’s cancelled, of course Barrier air said no. But How generous. I would definitely recommend Fly My Sky :)

There are two carriers flying to Barrier- these guys and Barrier air. My experience is that I strongly recommend flying with Barrier air. Fly my sky weigh every piece of luggage plus the people then if overweight go around asking if anyone can ditch a bottle of water which does not install confidence. The planes are also a lot older and smaller and they are regularly late which is quite an issue when getting connecting flights from Auckland. Although they are very friendly when there is a modern efficient alternative I strongly suggest avoid whenever possible.

My first time visit to the island started wrong (to be honest, it haven't started at the momemt of writing this). Arrived more than 45min earlier to my 10.30am departure flight with my wife. Immediately while checking in we get informed that we are both on separste planes, as they have to balance weight of both cargo and passengers, yet promised both flight would depart at the same time, or worst case scenario with a 30min difference. I reluctantly agreed and we waited. 10.30 came and nothing, flight delayed because of westher. 10.45...11... 11.30....11.45....12 my wife gets the call to board. Not me. After checking in with the company on updates the promised by 12.15 my flight would depart. I soon realised theres a 2pm flight announced and ask about it. I was promised by the pilot (who happened to be at the counter) and another representative that i we were too depart 'wayyyyyy before 2pm'. A new announcement came on the board announcing we depart at 12.45.... At 1pm the pilot said we wont depart 'before 1.40....2 ish?' ... Of coursed i complained saying thaty wife is already at the island, and im here 4.5 hours late and still no clue when will depsrt. To literally get a 'yah... Im sorry'. No complimentary coffee nor water has been offered. Is 1.45pm on the 27 of october 2017, while writing this and... Still waiting for my flight. Rest assured, this is the first and last time i fly with this company.
