A quick detour but we'll worth it. Follow the sign from the roundabout off the main road. The lookout offers uninterrupted scenic views of lake Taupo and surrounding mountains. Would be great at sunset on a nice clear day.

Lovely view of the lake. A pity the walking/cycling track does not extend past here. Unkempt area does not enhance the view to the east.
A great place for photos of the lake and mountains, especially if the weather is good.

Love this spot.... So peacefull....
Wow wow is all I can say , stunning scenery, there are plenty of places you can park and have a picnic right on the edge of the lake.
Lovely scenic spot but beware there are radicals reside on paddock threatening tourists and residents from time to time
