spa-less hotel even after emailing to ask if rooms had a spa working in them (which email was ignored) and a call to kerry to ask if the chalets have spas in them he assured my wife yes they do .... well they do but ours didnt work , in the original room then got sent to another room where the spa definitley worked they said..... it didnt , the second room was a dump mould on the carpet by the tv, mould in the non working spa area in the second room , even the 2 chalets beside us no spas working in those the .... i really wanted to rate this place higher, we had stayed a few times in the past admittidly we havent been back in the last 4 years still i looked at the reiews and thought ok this place is still good .... we wouldnt come back here again , for 125 (yes its cheap) i would still expect a minimum standard to be upheld but no , it hurts to say this but if you are considering staying ... dont

Stuffs all very nice, fair prices. I have to say if you are big fan of identity, psycho, this is the place you don’t want to miss. all things very old and signboard paint has peeled off. Actually it will be a great place as movie site. As a hotel, soooo many replacements should be done.
Fantastic place for a lazy beverage and hot chips to nibble, good atmosphere and child friendly... Also has accommodation so keep that in mind, great place all round.
Friendly and welcoming. Really good value option in Taupo. Found it to be an excellent base for our walk to the Huka Falls and the hot pools are just across the road.
INCREDIBLE staff- especially Kerry he's a legend & the lady who looks after the hotel and food, keeps everything spotless, onto it and is a great chef! Definitely going back for another visit..the whole area's really romantic and affordable
Although this is an old Historic location in Taupo it has probably the most reasonable pricing for accommodation. The new owners are progressively restoring grounds and buildings to make this location a great experience.
