Really great guides, beautiful area to paddle. Your paddle time is dependent on your group's ability, so if other people are joining you, keep in mind it may take longer than expected. A snack on the beach right by the rock carvings and the guides do take photos of you in case your phone/camera isn't waterproof. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see the rock carvings, you can't see these from land, you have to paddle or take a boat to see them.

Great service, reasonable prices and a fun afternoon out at Lake Taupo to see the amazing Maori Rock Carvings!

Kayaks in poor condition or broken as well as paddles. Bad attention from the woman who was in the afternoon. I would not return nor would I recommend.

We rented two single kayak to go to maori rock. the time for this type of excursion is 4 hours (half day)which is ok to go , stay some minutes and come back. The staff is normal, neither very friendly nor apathetic. The kayak are quite well maintained but I got a green color that was very difficult and hard to regulate the left pedal. the service is good according to the price. What did bother me a bit was that you have to carry the kayak from the store to the shore yourself. On the way out is fine but when you come back super tired after paddling 4 hours, it becomes heavy to carry the kayak up. maybe if they bring you the kayak and bring it it would be great.

What is going on here. We wanted to rent kayaks to paddle to the Maori carvings. We went to the door and a lady came out to assist us. We told her our plans and she made us get all the equipment on our own. We had to pull the boats from a high shelf. She gave us a short introduction and a map and then said, if we have any problems on the water, there are two numbers to call. She added, she doesn’t want to hear from us and she will charge us a lot of money, if we call her. After our tour, we wanted to return the kayaks, but there was nobody. After we dropped all our equipment, a young man came. He again wanted us to store the boats on the shelf. The lady then came out, yelling at the boy and shouting at us, we should repack the equipment. But besides that: Have a look at the carvings, they are amazing. Edit: We didn’t even have to knock, because she came out already, trying to help us find a boat. There was no sign, that the rental was closed that specific day and we weren’t the only ones renting kayaks. I am sorry for your loss, maybe next time we’ll have a better experience.

We returned the kayaks after half the time planned to use and when we asked for a partial refund was told without hesitation "my boss won't refund you" unfortunate experience but other then that one thing good customer service

They're awesome. Had great fun with the boys out on the lake with kayaks we hired from here. Good equipment, friendly staff, and their professionalism makes them the best choice to hire kayaks. They also gave our group an extra hour free.
