Saw the reviews and went there with my family today with great expectations to celebrate my Birthday.. Ordered Noodles and rice dishes and soup and 2 appetizers. The crackers and wontons were too oily... it was dripping on badly... The soup was inedible... absolutely disgusting.. felt like it was made from rotten tomatoes and stale chicken... The noodle was burnt and the rice was bland. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING....

Well services and majority of the foods are delicious without caused of MSG due to won't feel thirsty after meal. Price are reasonable. I and my buddies almost dine in once a week :) highly recommend their Roast Peking Duck! But this dishes will take some time to serve as it lot of steps we believe :)

We had takeaways, bbq pork and combination fried rice. Both dishes were very tasty and the servings were generous. I was particularly grateful for the friendly waitress who helped me decide what to get. I'm puzzled by tbe negative reviews and almost wonder if we're talking about the same place!

We've come here nearly every day during our stay in Tauranga, sampling quite a few lunch, dinner and dim sum dishes. Without exception, they were all authentic and very tasty. We're from NYC, and Eastern Ocean would definitely be able to hold its own in New York's Chinatown. That's high praise, indeed. The service is great - the owner is exceptionally friendly, and seems to know all her regulars by name. We've tried a number of other Chinese restaurants in Tauranga, and this is definitely the place to come for an authentic Chinese dining experience.

1st time at eastern ocean and absolutely loved it. The food was great. The lunch menu was great. Had some pork dumplings and pork and coriander dumplings, spicy pork and rice and spicy chicken and rice. Everything was amazing. Service too was great, quick and friendly staff.
