We lost 1,500 because of Chanda Suri from Eves. We wanted to buy a house from her portfolio and before we do any due diligence we asked her if the seller can make the settlement date January 2021 and she indicated yes. Now after we have done building inspection and lawyer proof-reading of documents (which cost us 1,500) she told me just before the auction it turns out the seller doesn't want to settle after 21st December 2020, which won't work for us. All the effort and money goes down to drain. Hugely disappointing. Advice for buyers: Don't trust what the agent says. Put what you think is important down to paper. Variation Agreement could be a good one which contains settlement date and deposit, etc. Do this before everything. Advice for sellers: If a agent can do harm to its buyer it can also do harm to its seller. Rethink before you choose. Edit: Later we discovered from her colleagues that Chanda has been fully aware of seller's settlement expectation from the start as the seller has well emphasized that. And yet she still told us the false information. Chanda you can hold your integrity better than this.
