Disappointed with quality and service. I like to smoke meats and was a regular in Gilmours' meat cold room, but after buying the world's toughest brisket I have not been back. I initially thought I could rebuild my confidence in their product by asking basic questions about their pack dates and quality controls, but I could not get good answers from customer service or their meat manager, and there just seemed to be a general lack of concern for the quality of their product. Consequently, I've moved on to Aussie Butcher, and Gilmours is in my rear view mirror. Aussie B were happy to answer my questions and seem to take some pride in their product. It's further to drive there, but I've had a much better experience so far. Andrew M's review says Gilmours is like the Costco of NZ... absolutely not! I shopped at Costco for 20 years and not only do they understand customer service but they make every effort to drive the market towards local produce and sustainable and organic practices. Good luck finding anything organic at Gilmours... you get your glyphosate whether you like it or not. When Costco comes in early 2022, I'd rather drive to West Auckland than the mile or so to Gilmours.

Great place to shop in bulk at a very very reasonable price. Based in at cross roads taurine next to farmers and across the road from downer Edi with plenty of parking. Wheel chair accessible and very friendly staff who are very kind and helpful
