Beautiful tranquil setting, fantastic during any season. Perfect balance of nature and art. The history and transformation of a old quarry, to what it is now is another reason to visit. Visit the website before visiting.

Great place for a picnic then have a stroll exploring the converted quarry into theSculpture park. Plenty is Sculptures to find and see and things to do. Also eat some lovely plums as you stroll along.

What a wonderful experience walking around the park a few days ago. To view so many sculptures and installations strategically placed amongst the natural surroundings is a sight to see. A fantastic place to spend time and enjoy what nature has to offer. Will bring a picnic next time and hope to return to see the changes in the seasons. A bonus was to met the owners. Thank you John and Dorothy for the hindsight of developing Waitakaruru Arboretum.

I have visited the sculpture park a number of times over the years. You see different things every time you go partly because things change but mostly because you always notice new things. There is a permanent collection of sculptures, 111 to be precise, and they have special exhibitions from time to time. But there is lots to enjoy even if you have no interest in sculpture. It is a wonderfully beautiful setting, the result of 30 years of inspired planting.

This place was really cool. Good value for money and plenty to see, especially if you look really close. Only thing I could say would make it even better is a wee cafe for a nice cuppa mid-walk.

At TAUWHARE, near Matangi / Hamilton Have been aiming to come here for ages! It's a stunning walk for a few hours. Beautiful planting in an old quarry, with lots of corners, interesting art, and every corner lifted the bar further. It's a bit of a climb, very good paths, kids seemed to be loving finding the sculptures.

Nice garden for a day trip from Auckland. Perfect for family with children, and couples too.

Absolutely brilliant and reasonably priced. Don't go too fast and look all around you. There's so many hidden surprises. Took around 2 to 2 and a half hours to complete. Just one note there's a few steps etc so no good for people that are no good with steps. I would definitely recommend you go
