The Southern Secret is a smaller boat, only room for twelve guests. That's a good thing. But the facilities are quite nice, the staff are informative and friendly, the food is well prepared, fresh (you catch it or it comes from the lobster trap) and you'll have plenty activities during your overnight stay. We kayaked, fished, swam, watched penguins, dolphins, etc, took a thousand pictures, and had a great time. The journey to and from the boat is fun too. If you consider the extra activities and services, it is quite a value. Don't forget to BYOBs.

What a fantastic experience we had on our overnight trip. Beautiful boat, wonderful staff and great food.
This was an absolute highlight of our travels around NZ. I can't speak highly enough of the staff of this company. 4 of us went on the Southern secret for 2 night and at no time were we disappointed. Sean our driver and boat captain and Jenny our 5 star cook plus Jack of all trades are a credit to this company. They could not do enough for us. We saw dolphins and penguins. We fished and ate our catch. Were served crayfish daily. The commentary and info was great. Thankyou guys for making wonderful memories. Can't recommend you enough.

Cannot say enough about our adventure and the crew of Southern Secret. Jason and Kirsten and wee Carla were just amazing . These guys wrk so hard and are so passionate about what they do. Just blown away by their amazing personalities willingness to share their knowledge and give us one of the most amazing expierences ever.
Had such a great relaxing time onboard the cruise ship. Jason and Jenny were really sincere and informative about the various topics. We even managed to catch glimpses of the seals, penguins and dolphins. It is really amazing how they multi-tasked the operation of the cruise ship, preparation of food and still look after the group of us. Fantastic! We really appreciate the whole journey! :)
Great tour from Doubtful Sound to the Tasman Sea. Provides the opportunity to see sea lions (fur whales) in their natural environment. Captain provided a mindful moment to hear and appreciate the natural environment. There was some rain (it's a brain forest y'all) which resulted in many temporary waterfalls. Beautiful. Fresh tea and coffee served complimentary.
