The general sales associates were friendly. On speaking with the male Pharmacist to seek advice, I found him to be rude and arrogant, not only to me but my husband. When I then asked for a large packet of Panadeine, he asked if this was for me. I replied that it was as I suffer from migraines. I went on to explain that I prefer not to have the heavier dose version which requires a Doctor's Prescription as I find they send me to sleep. He then arrogantly advised me that he was "allowing' me to have the smaller packet. I then asked - to be clear - that while the larger packet was on the shelf and available and does not require a Doctor's prescription - he, for no apparent reason, decided not to sell it to me. When I asked why I could not purchase the larger packet as it is more cost effective, he reiterated that it was 'his call'. I am a middle aged qualified (retired) Forensics Specialist with some 26 years experience. This Pharmacist then stressed that he was 'giving me' the smaller packet. My husband pointed out that we were paying for the items. We found the experience both embarrassing and him, in particular, extremely condescending in his attitude. I would strongly recommend that if you have need for advice on over-the-counter medicines that you search elsewhere for that advice. This is the very first person we have encountered in New Zealand who has been rude for absolutely no reason.
