I really enjoyed the stay in the hostel. It has an absolutely amazing homey feel. A gorgeous kitchen with the common area and that teracce! Perfect place to stay before hitting the Tongariro crossing. Very close from the bus drop off, very close from the supermarket. Reccommended! The host is really super friendly and helpful. Thank you
From the moment I arrived I did not want to leave. Wonderful host, really warm and comfortable common area and excellent kitchen with impressive recycling. Total 5 out 5 highly recommended for solo travellers and families. Angela
We stayed two days at Riverstone Backpackers. The new owners (Sandra and Duncan) had just taken over the place the day we arrived, and they were extremely helpful! The place is spotless, comfortable and with a homely feel. The kitchen very convenient and the outdoor area/living room great for hanging out. We were a family of five and stayed in a room with a queen and bunk bed which was perfect. Sandra and Duncan were extremely helpful and could guide us to where to eat, mountain bike and more. They had a few mountain bikes that we got really cheap, and we went for a day trip on the Tongariro River Trail. Perfect for beginners. If you are looking for something comfortable, clean and friendly with that homely backpacker/family feel to it, Riverstone Backpackers is a great place.
Top for cyclist!!!! 4 nights there. Logan the owner is a verry good guy!! He take you and book for you all highlights, bus pick you up at the hostel and bring you back. The garden is so beautiful, the hammock Mega, perfekt place for hang up after hard rides. I come back sure!! Thank you Logan!!
Warm beds and warm personalities, we will definitely be visiting Riverstone Backpackers next time we are in the area. Everything from the kitchen to the bathrooms were clean. The wood burning stove was a perfect touch to an already great experience. Don't miss out on this great place!
