Very cosy and private units. The hosts are very friendly and caring of their guests. The units are great for fur-parents travelling with fur babies. Our little guy absolutely loved it and enjoyed sniffing around and seeing rabbits from our the door.

Friendly hosts. The motel units are very clean and the bed is comfortable. Overall a well presented motel with lots of parking.
AA providers and I couldn't have been more happy to have broke down in Turangi, we felt so comfortable and welcomed by owner Ross while our car was being repaired. We really wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get back home to work. Our room was clean lovely and homely feeling. Our children have been on many road trips and motels and they have hands down said they really love this motel room more then the others we have been in. We are coming back soon because my husband and i promised our children, We have no choice now because we wont hear the end of it. From the islander couple in unit 3 with the 3 children.

The Tongariro River motel is a home away from home Ross and pip are the loveliest people warm and welcoming ️can't wait to come back
Prebooked by phkne from Taupo Ross the owner was an absolute gentleman took care of my stay promptly. Impeccable professional customer service friendly efficient with a welcome smile. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Will recommend to friends and colleagues global wanting good old fashioned Kiwi hospitality. Would love to visit again whilst on business travels.
