Seems to be over occupyed by the young trendy crowd. The main meals were overpriced and small, trying too hard to be "quality" bar food. Great beers is the main reason to try and you won't be disappointed.

First time here and it did not disappoint, had the Voodoo XPA and Chicken burger, beer was awesome and the burger was huge and had a good portion of chips. They only thing they didn’t have were high chairs but I guess it’s a pub so maybe that’s why. Go during the week when it’s quieter

Omg. Amazing yet again. I messed up and made a booking a week earlier than intended so hubby and I honored our booking. Service is always exceptional. I always try to make a point of trying something new off the menu. This time it was the beef cheek. Highly recommend. Altho, I will warn you, the heat off that ginger relish almost burnt my face off! Hehehe. Usually I couldn't eat something so spicy but the flavor was so on point I just had to keep going. Did always exceeds expectations. Looking forward to coming back next week
Absolutely bloody mint! My partner and I got the beef brisket sliders to share, he got the Darkness (Stout) and I got the Voodoo XPA; both bloody stuffed but loving it! Brisket melted in your mouth with stretchy cheese and soft bread. Chips and corn were bloody tasty and the staff gave good banter. Highly recommend, bloody good eats! 5
Boneface is a large brewery and bar in Upper Hutt’s Brewtown. There is a limited menu available over the holidays including burgers, wood fired pizza and bar snacks. We shared a prawn star pizza featuring 5-6 prawns, some jalapeño slices and random dollops of avocado. The spiced buffalo wings had a real kick but one was enough for me. The mushroom and bok choy crispy dumplings were mushy inside; we didn’t finish these either. The service is good and the retro atmosphere is interesting to look around.
Arrived expecting a pub type meal. The menu was a pleasant surprise. It was much better. Had the duck salad (gf). The salad itself was really tasty and was full of walnuts, pear and feta. The duck leg was tender and the prosciutto type slices of duck were a lovely surprise. The staff were attentive and professional. I tried one of the artisan gins at the waitress's suggestion. It was called denzien. It was a delicate sensation of flavours, garnished with ground pepper and rosemary. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you team!!
