What’s not to love about 15 Motorhome overnight parking spaces, with a dump station, fresh water, a rubbish bin & toilet? There are numerous Day parking spaces too. Then there’s the paved footpath for walking or riding along the beach area, the wild tempestuous sea & the unspoiled area. A rare piece of NZ that’s still original in its Bach by the Beach state. It has modern touches too, that gives it a contemporary feel, for those wanting a little bit of comfort. I was super impressed by the facilities the council here have provided. 10/10

Stayed on a Sunday night, lovely place to stay, only problem was the toilet was blocked an no- one would use it. Phoned council Monday morning an contractor was out to sort problem within the hour, an he did a great job cleaning it. Maybe needs to be checked at weekend as well.

A quick breakaway with the camper van to Waihi Beach. A stroll on the beach with rain bucketing down on return to Hamilton.

Was a great spot to freedom camp cycle track close and only a few km to cycle to town or Bowentown. Bit crowded tho as the spaces are very narrow. We got blocked in late at night by s vehicle and couldn't get out our camper door. Not ideal.
