Only went to The Mess Tent Cafe but would recommend it. I had the pot pie which was delicious. It really is home cooked food and great value! My partner rated the coffee too.

Staying comes with free security checks through the night. The staff are friendly & helpful & the Army Tent Cafe is to die for menu wise. Not a lot of selection of sweet food. Iced chocolate Very good value & the French toast... is just gobble & slurp good! Excellent value for money & competitive prices. The museum gave me a two day pass as I had arrived later in the day. I was able to go through the next day & learn a lot more about the Anzacs & some Maori history as well. Excellent value & friendly helpful staff.

We went into the museum and then went and played on the stuff outside. For us, a 5 year old girl and her dad, we found the museum a tad creepy but we really enjoyed playing on the tanks and stuff outside. They had tried really hard inside with different activities for the kids and if your kids liked guns and stuff like that, I think they might like it more than we did. But it wasn't for us.

As they say on the roadside advertising boards heading into Waiouru ' History without the boring stuff' the museum is a very interesting place to visit. PS try the Loaded Bootlace fries at the café... Just saying

A great exhibition. Interesting and well laid out. Portable stools available should anyone need to rest while walking around the exhibits. Good facilities and well worth the visit to appreciate what happened during the various conflicts in which New Zealanders have been involved.
