Stayed there with my partner and our 2yo while riding the Otago Rail Trail and we all LOVED it! Wonderful hospitality, beautiful garden, quirky vibe, etc. Grant went next level to make our son's stay special, and he will remember starting the tractor for sure ahah. Can't wait to be back! Also, super convenient to make the most of the Waipiata Pub experience on a Friday night, so close, so cheap and so cool ;-)

Made to feel right at home straight away. True southern hospitality within a unique historical setting.

We LOVED our stay there - great people, the place is beautiful with a lot of flowers and trees. Our toddler really enjoyed the garden and the custom made swing - not to mention going into Grant's tractor! Highly recommend to stay there when you are doing the Otago Trail. The pub in Waipiata is a few minutes away so very handy for dinner/breakie. Thanks Heather and Grant, see you again!

Clean, welcoming, rooms were cramped. Bed comfortable. Outdoor toilet with no power. However, quirky decor.

Stayed here overnight while cycling the Central Otago Rail trail with a friend between Christmas 2020 and New Year. Our hosts Grant and Heather were amazing, they made us feel really at home and went over and above to cater for us. Rutha the resident chef cooked us a fantastic 3-course meal, for which we were happy to pay a small amount of cash. As there was a 6-strong family party also staying there that night, our accommodation was out in the tool shed (which as the name suggests is a converted tool shed), a wee bit compact for two grown men but was comfortable and perfectly ok for the one night. Also they have a guard goat (whose name escapes me) who greeted us in the field on the way in - seemed a pretty chilled individual tho, I suspect he's been trained only to attack Aucklanders..!

Looks great, smells great, beautiful accomodation and gardens. A number of rooms to choose from. Modern kitchen, laundry and shower and very accommodating. Right on the trail trail. Breakfast available and walking distance to a good pub. Beautiful quiet with lovely outdoor seating. Highly recommended.....

Despite the rain and plunging temperatures we really enjoyed our third visit to Heather & Grant's lovely property. Quiet secluded unpretentious and perfectly lovely . Don't expect en suites but do expect a wonderful welcome and terrific hospitality. Beaut dinner! Fab wine ( Two Degrees Pinot Noir and/or Rose).
