Worth a visit. Lovely location, falls looked great, plenty of water flowing. Downhill walk with some steps, however coming up took a bit more effort with lots more steps. Shame there were health signs advising not to swim. Lovely picnic location.

Track passes several waterfalls making for a real treat to stop and look. Beautiful spot for a swim toward the bottom. Despite the small size of the park, the steep hills around the river are preserved so that all you can see is native bush.

What's not to love about some adventure in your life- get some free adrenaline, grab your old runners, towel and budgie smugglers and head to Kaiate Falls. The climb down is slopey and full of stairs but well worth it as there's a big swimming hole at the end to reward you. Definitely wouldn't be taking any elderly family members here, otherwise you'll be carrying them out on a stretcher. It's relatively safe so pretty sweet for a younger family. There is a BOP health warning sign about the water quality, but the amount of people i saw swimming didn't seem to worry about it. Take a break from cafe jumping on the weekend and get to this place for a wilderness high!

Love the walk down to the falls, amazing views from up top looking towards Tauranga and can see the Mount. Once at the falls on top of the big rocks it can be dangerous if you are trying to go for swim without jumping in as the rock is very slippery. Like all things mother nature, you go at your own risks. Another useful information is if it busy, parking can be a bit of an issue but not major as you just have to park along the road to the side and walk to the main parking area then you can go from there to the falls.

These falls are well worth the walk down. A few stairs and all up hill when your done but totally worth the effort. The kids were fine.

This Reserve consists of two major waterfalls. The first one is about 15-min walk from the car park. It’s a 2-step fall. Water flow is great & it roars loud. Another 15-min walk leads u to the second fall that’s a tall & thin one. Water flow is not as much as the first one but it’s beautiful in shape. Strongly recommended!

Beautiful spot, well worth the trip. The walk down to the waterfalls wasn't too difficult but the climb back up was harder than expected (probably because I had my child in the back pack carrier). Side note; a car had been broken into just before arriving so take or hide your valuables!
