Good for kids
What a neat place! It is a bit difficult to find. You have to go all the way to the end, and park there under the trees, otherwise it is a bit of a hike from the bottom entrance. The owners were very friendly and helpful. You can choose a guided tour or self guided. There were so many interesting things to see. It's amazing to think this is how people lived. The surrounding gardens are pretty, and there are lots of walking trails as well. For only 5, you can immerse yourself a slice of New Zealand history

Visited today with my youngest daughter and my 8 and 6 year old grandchildren. My daughter and I had visited several times before but it was the first time for the grandkids. Pleased to say they were captivated by this lovely place. Keep up the great work! Thanks. Steve

A historical home full of character and curios. The volunteer attendant on duty was super enthusiastic and enthralling to listen to. Well worth a visit.
