Booked Paul for 3 full days of fly fishing in mid December and had a fantastic experience! Even though NZ was having the worst flooding in over 25 years, Paul was determined to find us a clear river within driving distance from Queenstown and I couldn't be more thankful for his efforts as many other guides in the area were cancelling trips due to the weather conditions. Paul was incredibly knowledgeable of the region (even 3 hrs away from Queenstown). When planning the trip, I was considering only hiring a guide for a day and then fishing on my own for the remaining days - I'm sure glad I decided against that plan as there were so many nuances and river etiquette in NZ that I would have violated without a guide. Beyond that, Paul has many years of experience and knew exactly where to find and look for the fish and I caught far more fish than I ever would have on my own. Paul is incredibly friendly and a delight to chat with. Even at pick-up it felt as though I was fishing with an old friend back home with his laid back demeanor and thoughtful conversations. I highly recommend Paul as your guide for fly-fishing in New Zealand. I will definitely be hiring him for our next trip to NZ! Thanks so much for the trip of a life time Paul!!!
