My cat had a wonderful stay at Barndale over the 2020/2021 summer holiday period. He went from being quite shy to being much more confident. I can highly recommend Barndale to anyone looking for a good cattery. Great value and they look after your cat as if it was their own.

Barndale is the best boarding cattery that I have ever experienced. I have needed to take my cats to board for decades and recently moved from Takapuna to Warkworth. I wanted to board my 2 cats for 6 weeks at least and Janet and Colin, who operate Barndale, provided my family with the best care of our precious fur babies. We can't speak highly enough of the dedication, expertise, patience and kindness that we encountered. Our elderly cat, Suki, is on 2 different meds and a fussy eater. Nothing was too much trouble for Janet and Colin - they had Suki on the best eating regime and both cats looked blooming with health when we finally picked them up. We have already booked in for February when we have to go away and feel so sanguine about leaving our fur babies with Janet and Colin.
My cat Harry was very happy when we collected him. I'm pretty sure he had a good time. Can recommend as Harry has stayed in a few catteries.
I left my cat Nina here for 3 months and could not have been happier - the owners were very friendly and took great care of Nina :-) I really appreciated how they posted pictures of her on their Facebook page. Thank you so much!
I cannot recommend this amazing cattery enough! Being that it was my first time putting my cat into a cattery, i was uneasy about leaving my fur baby there as i knew my she didnt do well with other cats around, however as soon as i was greeted by Colin with his great sense of humor, his care for the cats and his knowledge about cats, it made it a whole lot easier leaving my fur baby there! Missy was there for 9 days, and she came back so much happier. Barndale is now going to be Missys second home whenever i go on holiday :) - THANK YOU Barndale for taking such good care of Missy. Barndale is worth the drive if you want your fur-baby taken care of very well!
Barndale is an excellent boarding place for cats and dogs. The owners are very diligent, no request is asking too much. The animals are very well looked after as judged by how our family pet looks and behaves when sent there and when retrieved. I am perfectly satisfied with the service and highly recommend people use Barndale for their pets.
We have been taking our cat and dog to Barndale for about 5 years, because of all the great things about it; the perfect grounds, facilities, cleanliness, staff, reliability, flexibility ... but the best thing is knowing that they love it, so much so that my dog gets so excited when he knows he is going there that he starts whimpering at the Moirs Hill turning like he does when he is about to get to the beach for a walk! I don't think he would mind too much if I didn't pick him up again!
Been bringing our cat here for 9 years pretty much every year great service always comes back groomed and well taken care of reasonable price
