What was a sleepy little rural town is now growing rapidly in size with a vast array of retail facilities spread widely across the township on both sides of SH1. Several well known cheap quality food outlets here now, along with 4 Pharmacies, several good bakeries, and a good area of predominantly women's clothing and shoe shops. Bars and Pubs available, 2 jewellers, several ATM Machines and all banks. 2.00 Shop hidden away, 2 major Supermarkets, Information Office, clean newly refurbished public toilet facilities. Callbox telephones outside Info Centre. Public Library with very helpful staff. Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Boutique Butchery with quality meat not overly expensive. Health Food shop, women's lingerie shop. Cafes dotted around town. Too many Real Estate outlets occupying prime retail areas adding nothing to the character of the town. Hunting & Fishing franchise and another Hunting Shop near the Police Station. Bin Inn has reopened under new ownership, several Lotto outlets. Scum Ak Council Parking Wardens in action fairly regularly pissing people off to the max. Woodcocks Rd side on town has all the Industrial businesses and Trade Companies. Definately worth checking up there before cruising into town. Things Ww is lacking : drinking fountains throughout town, KFC, JB HiFi, a dedicated proper ice cream parlour a small free Courtesy Bus to get elderly around town safely due to the layout, a Retail Pet Shop that actually knows what they are doing, a bigger centrally located Vodafone Shop, more constables visible on foot, a mens Barber Style hairdresser, not a Salon, a large unisex shoe shop, Cotton On for young teens.
