I just want to say what fantastic and fabulous experience I had here was so helpful , I found my beautiful dress in my first visit with the fabulous help from these ladies, They are fantastic, super kind, and caring, since the first day I felt super welcome and warm, plus the prices and quality of the dresses are excellent. thanks so much for all the help I highly recommend Brides on Thorndon & Major Tomms Suit Hire in Cambridge Terrace , here a few photos about my wedding day. Absolutely 5 stars - I cannot rate Brides on Thorndon and their staff highly enough. This was the first, and only, bridal store I visited and I found the perfect dress. Whilst I had a smaller budget, and I’m a size 16, there were a number of dresses available for me to try on. Even though I wasn’t sure what I wanted - although I knew what I didn’t want - the staff were so helpful in finding me suitable dresses to try on. They put the dress I finally chose on hold and were happy for me to take photos so I could get a second opinion from my sister and best friend who are both based in the UK and I was able to purchase it the following day. There was no ‘hard sell’ and I really enjoyed the experience and the advice and help I received. I don’t wear dresses or skirts and rarely shop but I found the whole experience extremely relaxing and I was put at ease by their staff throughout the consultation. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience :)

Had a fabulous experience at Brides on Thorndon. I tried on wedding dresses with my then 23 year old son, and we had such a great experience, something I will never forget doing with my son. I came out in the dress I ended up buying, which was totally different to what I had pictured. I felt so comfortable and right on our wedding day! Very happy with the whole experience!

This was one of three bridal shops I went to to find a wedding dress - and boy was it different to the other two! They had some beautiful dresses but they did not try to fit the dresses to me (like both other bridal stores did), nor did they let me take photos of the dresses (which both other stores suggested and endorsed!). They would not even let me take a picture of the label or write down the name of the dress so I could even look it up! This meant that I immediately forgot what the dresses looked like on me, and although they were beautiful, they fell out of the running pretty quick when I had photos to look back on from both other stores. Bit of a bummer as I probably would have purchased the dress if I could have looked back on photos of it!

I bought my wedding dress from Jill and her team in May 2019. After looking in several other more boutique stores first, I wish I had just come here from the beginning. The design and price range were both large so I think it will cater for many people. The store itself is also quite big so easy to try multiple things on quickly if you are like me and got sick of the whole process. The price and quality was excellent but most of all the generous helpful staff. Thanks Jill, I highly recommend Brides on Thorndon (now on Cambridge Tce)
