The first time we had dinner at the Damascus restaurant was out of curiosity. I’ve always loved Syrian food and know it well since my trip in Syria years ago. I was also fascinated by the articles I read about how the opening of this restaurant helped to bring back a strong community life and spirit into the Vogelmorn bowling club. During this first visit, my husband and I had a crush on the place, the atmosphere and of course the amazing and fine food. We decided to do our wedding celebration there. Flora and Hasan did an incredible job for our wedding. They prepared amazing food to please all the guests. Flora baked 2 delicious and beautiful cakes, exactly as I wished them to be. They knew that we didn’t have family here in New Zealand and did more for us than expected. Our friends loved it and will certainly go back to the restaurant. The place itself is very children friendly. I feel very grateful to have met Flora and Hasan and definitively recommend anyone to go and enjoy the Damascus restaurant.

If you like middle Eastern food, then this place you must try it. Price is reasonable, all foods are yummy and also they have homemade ginger beer which is good with lamb meatballs we enjoyed food and environment there, there are nice cozy sofas so if stomach is full you can lie down (why not) Also outside in front of vogelmorn Bowling Club there is nice big play ground with lots of toys for kids(you can see in picture below)

Seriously the best middle eastern authentic food you can taste in Wellington. Once you try Hassan falafel and hummus, you know not to go anywhere else, because his food is D best. Hopefully they can be open more days so we can enjoy Damascus blissful food. Thank you
