We shared a fish and chip lunch at Fresko today. Compared with our previous visit when we raved about how nice and tasty, and well presented their food was, their food quality l'm sorry to say has definitely slipped. Their battered fish tasted very bland, and most of the chips were small, kinda stale, and not crispy at all. I therefore cannot recommend Fresko anymore.

There’s something about fish and chips from an establishment that has “supplier” in the name that lends a certain legitimacy to the operation that somehow influences the tastebuds. The fish tastes fresher, the batter crispier, the chips chippier. What I especially like about Fresko is the option of a fish burger that feels like a staple of the menu rather than a forgotten option on an overstuffed chalkboard, somewhere below deep fried spring roll and chicken chow mein. Top notch nosh!

There is a price premium here but for the fish it is worth it. Chips are crisp and fluffy in the middle but they are standard F&C shop chips just cooked well. I had a hot dog as well but it was overcooked and dry. I will come again as it is one of the few shops offering grilled fish and I will try the Greek Salad to see how that is.

Workers were very cheerful smiled and they seemed to be enjoying each other's company. Wonderful food and the fish wasn't to oily... Definitely would visit Fresko again before I go back to Auckland on Sunday

Damn that was a great cheeseburger! Unexpectedly the best burger I've had since moving here in December. So good.

Truely the new King of fish and chips in Wellington. I tried a bit of everything and in all honesty it was all amazing. The portions were huge and perfectly seasoned,we got actual containers of sauce and the drinks were ice cold. Will be back, will rave about this place to my friends and will be keeping an eye on this place to see where they go from here

OMGosh absolutely delicious fish burgers!!! And battered fresh mussels are another hit with us... these are gloriously delicious, a 'poor man's oyster' A little bit of a wait... but oh soooo worth it, cheers guys
