This place is so amazing. Best time to come is definitely at night with family or friends. Then you can go and enjoy a nice glow in the dark gelato out on the water front. This is my dream place to work as a teenager while at college :)
Always love the gelato here. Great range of flavours and a great way to catch up with people in summer.
Anywhere else, I'm sure this would be a good gelato shop. But in Wellington it has to compete with Cafe Eis and Duck island ... And it just doesn't
It really depends the type of gelato you like. Some (not all) flavours do run more on the creamy side. I really enjoy their fruity flavours:guava, mango and durian. Their matcha was too creamy for me as I do like a strong matcha. The gelato never feels too sweet. It's also great that they change flavours every now and then. The staff is also very friendly. You can feel that they enjoy working there. If you don't believe me just go there and try it. You can sample a few flavours before you commit to a full scope or two.
The gelato here never misses. I got yumyum (peanut and choc/caramel?) this time, and lemon, lime & bitters. Cone is delicious and crunchy. Every lick is a delight!! Just wish I could come here more often as I live in Auckland.... The only downside!!!
I am not a huge gelato fan, especially on a cold day, but this was delicious even in the cold and wet Wellington weather!
I thought the shop was glow in the dark but it closes at 6. I thought it would be open longer but idk
