Had what I wanted when no one else did. But was very expensive

Some years ago, we bought handles for both internal and external doors, and external locks for our heritage villa from Henry and Kemp because we had heard they sold best-quality products. The shopping experience didn't give much confidence: the staff were patronising and actually misogynistic. We perservered - sad little men can still sell excellent products - and, based on Henry and Kemp's reputation, we assumed we were buying fixtures that would endure. We were wrong; the products were substandard. Five years on and the external locks and all handles have failed. We are obliged to replace them - and it will emphatically not be from Henry and Kemp.
