Brilliant small network of trails with a great dual-slalom track. It's a great place for beginners to learn the correct downhill corner technique because of the the nice, wide, bermy corners.

Jail Brake is my kind of track with a great mix of flow, easy jumps, technical sections over roots, and drops. Well drained so even in the middle of winter and a wet week you're not covered in muck and lots of

A couple of great wee tracks, both worth repeating. Shuttle-friendly and really well looked after by the local custodians

Small but perfectly formed, the MTP is one of Wellingtons best volunteer-run MTB and forest regeneration projects. The park has a good range of intermediate and advanced descending trails, and an easy climb back up to the top for another go. All of the trail makes take inspiration from the nearby (now closed) Mount Crawford prison - conviction (the uphill), Jailbrake and Solitary (descending) Juvie (a kids trail and Repeat Offender (which links the downhill trails with conviction). There's also a duel slalom course (recently rebuilt) just above Juvie, and a tarmac pump track. Miramar Track Project is run under the umbrella of the Wellington MTB Club.

Great tracks for biking and walking, with family or friends, or for fitness. Best with sturdy, easy-to-clean footwear. Dogs love it, but keep them on leash or close by (vermin traps). Great views from the high points. Beautiful coolth and birdsong lower down in the dense bush. It's one of our favourite clambers.
