Fancy a spot of sightseeing locally? MP offers some cracking coastal views, interesting rock formations (check out your geological knowledge), such as the rock tunnel, and even plane-spotting opportunities if this is your passion, as it is directly on the route of overhead planes due to the proximity of Wellington Airport. It is also home to the Moa Point Animal Shelter across the beach. It is not isolated as there is a fair amount of traffic, both foot and vehicle; you won't be lonesome for company. Despite the rocky outcrops MP is refreshingly verdant because of the lush mantle of native cover over much of the terrain.

Found this spot on a gorgeous day in New Zealand, waiting for one of my daughter's to get in at the Wellington Airport. I got more than I expected, pulling off into the provided parking area. Very peaceful but your not totally alone, many came & went while I was there. A nice find for a waiting place. You can watch planes come in or go out.
