The Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) is a non-profit organisation made up of police services in the Pacific. The PICP works to enhance and improve policing and communication in the Pacific by promoting and providing a voice on law enforcement issues and raising awareness of such issues with our stakeholders and provide a forum to share information and intelligence to counter transnational crime in the region. The PICP originally started out as a South Pacific Chiefs of Police Conference (SPCPC) which had its first meeting in 1970 when representatives of seven Pacific Island countries met in Fiji. Over time the quantity of Chiefs/Commissioners attending grew and the organisation changed its name to Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) in 2005 to reflect the PICP was more than just the hosting and arrangement of the conference and had wider pacific regional representation.
